Color Blocking

One thing I love about is summer is the bright fun colors! I love funky patterns with color blocking and I'm so excited to see color blocking in this season. For those of you that do not know what color blocking is, it's where you mix bold colors together. For example you may wear a hot pink tank with some bright orange high waisted pants. You know think this sounds horrible just reading it, but it actually really works beautifully together.

 Color Blocking

Who would think turquoise, pink, and orange would look so good together? In my mind, fashion is all about taking risks and being open minded. That is why I love this look so much because it does exactly that. Seeing this pieces separately you may never think to put them together, but when the look is fully styled it looks so fresh and stylish. My personal favorite look from the pictures above is Katy Perry's. I love how these colors compliment each other and the gold belt adds just enough to balance the whole look together. Now these pictures above are of course ridiculously expensive, but luckily I'm good at finding bargains, so I found some affordable pieces that will make you look just chic!

My next few post are going to be different summer looks I styled and put together for a reasonable price and I will post where you can get each and every item!

Color

Color ColorI love me some color! Here is a great color-block outfit I put together for you guys to check out.

70's TREND

70's TrendI really love the 70's so I put an outfit together with my favorite 70's inspired outfits.

Beauty Products

thought it would be a good idea to show you guys some of my favorite beauty products (makeup, hair products, etc).

I used to go to Victoria Secret for the cute panties, now I go for the makeup! I love their makeup line, plus it's not to expensive! These glittery eyeliners are amazing and gorgeous! They are perfect for a night out or if you feel like doing something a little different. I love wearing the turquoise with a smokey eye or with a fun purple eyeshadow. The gold looks great with just about anything. I love wearing it under my eye, or I'll make cat eye with a black eyeliner and outline it with the gold glitter liner. I always get a lot of compliments on these and I HIGHLY recommend them .Actually if I was you I would go RIGHT NOW because they are only like 2 dollars for the Semi-Annual Sale at VC. :)

Secluded Lagoon Shadow Quad- This is also from Victoria Secret and also apart of the Semi-Annual sale so it was only 4 dollars! I absolutely love it. I use the darker bronze colors as eye shadows and bronzer. I used the lighter color as a highlighter and the green as shadow and to line my eyes. I like to pair this quad with the gold glitter liner and it looks gorgeous!
The lipstick on the left is from Victoria Secret in the shade heartbeat. It's a very light pink and almost looks nude on the lips. It looks gorgeous with dramatic eyes. The one of the right is from Kohl's in the shade Naughty (I don't know the brand eek!) This color is like a reddish coral. I am a huge fan of dramatic lips and a deep red isn't very summery so this is my summer dramatic lip.

MY FAVORITE! I have been using this gel liner for a couple years now and I haven't found any better. It goes on so smoothly and it stays on all day. It is a little pricey at $30.00, but this little pot goes a long way.

So sometimes I get sick of using gel liner (my go to) and I use this Urban Decay Pencil liner. This came with my Urban Decay Naked Pallet and I became obsessed with it. It goes on very smoothly and the colors are super pigmented.

This is probably the best self tanner I have ever used. One thing I love about it is that you can adjust the color. So if you change your mind and want a light sun kissed look you don't have to go out and buy a new bronzer. It doesn't give you that orange look like most self tanners, it gives you a gorgeous glow that looks natural. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This is probably my boyfriends favorite "beauty" product of mine haha. He says it makes me smell like a jolly rancher. It is a cool melon scent which is so nice for summer!

OnebyOneVolum' Express mascara is definitely my favorite mascara at the moment. If I could only have one beauty product on me it would be this mascara. I am a natural blond so my eyelashes are SUPER blond so I must have mascara on or I look like I'm 12. It gives you a very dramatic look and makes your eyelashes look very full. Plus it's cheap!

Mask of Magnaminty by Lush is AMAZING. It leaves my skin so smooth and refreshed. The only problem is it can leave your skin a little dry once you rinse it off. But it is cleaning out all your pores soo I mean it's nothing a little lotion can't fix. It is a little pricey, but it's worth it in my opinion.

This is a bronzer tinted moisturizer by Stila and I absolutely love it. This is my face during the summer. It gives your face such a sun kissed look and just enough coverage. Perfect for the summer.

This is a mush have in my shower. It is a deep conditioner and it is seriously magical. It makes your hair so soft and shiny. It is a little pricey being 28 dollars, yet it last a while. I probably use this 3 times a week to help keep my hair healthy. Like I said in a previous post, I am a big fan of dying my hair so this stuff really helps me be able to do that.

My favorite perfumes for this summer. The one of the left is Flower Bomb which is expensive! I got this as a gift, I would never pay 90 dollars for perfume, but I do love it. It is a very girlie floral smell. The best part is it only takes a little bit and it will last all day. The one on the right is a much cheaper option from Gap called Stay. It smells so fresh and clean. Similar to Happy, just not as strong and a lot cheaper!

Dupes

So yesterday I went on to the mall to just look around and I found two AWESOME CHEAP pieces I could not turn down. So check this out...

I'm sure all of you are aware of the "IT" scarf. You know what I'm talking about.. the Alexander McQueen skull scarf everyone is raging about?

Well.. yes this is pretty awesome... but I dunno about you guys, but there is NO WAY I am paying 445.00 for a scarf. Yeah 445.00. So if your like me and think that is an absolutely absurd price, no worries my friend! I found a dupe at your local Rue 21 for a low price of 9.99.... Your welcome. :)

On to the next over priced trendy item in the fashion world.
These flats have been HUGE this year! Kate Spade has came out with some tip flats that range from 240 bucks..whew!
You can pay that ridiculous price OR go to Rue 21 and pay 4.99. You're call.

So you may wanna go visit your local Rue21, because they have some really cute things for great prices!

Chunky Sweater

One Skirt

So recently I became obsessed with this adorable metallic skirt from TopShop! Looking at it alone you may think it's a little loud and not to versatile. Oh my friend you are SO wrong! This skirt can be worn in many ways! Here are a few examples!

Girly- I paired the skirt with a cozy pink sweater to soften the look. I added super feminine jewelry to add that girly touch. Then paired it with a precious pair of neutral flats.

Preppy- I love this look! It kind of reminds me of an outfit Blair from Gossip Girl would wear. I paired the skirt with an adorable black and white button up and a cute fun cardigan to add that preppy touch! Finished the look with simple flats and jewelry.

Edgy- With this look I decided to be a bit of a dare devil. I paired the skirt with this printed crop top to add a little sexy to the look! Added some bright funky jewelry and HAD to add in some stand out heels.

Glam- With this look I was thinking sparkles, obviously. I decided to pair it with this super glamorous gold top. I know some people are iffy about gold and silver together, but I love it when it's done right! I added in some bold colored jewelry, a fun cheetah clutch, a bold blazer, and of course some super sparkly heels!

Colored Tights

Colored tights are everywhere these days. On the runway to just about every retail store I walk in. And I'm loving this trend! I found some of my favorite colored tight to show how I like to style them.

The first outfit on the left is just so adorable to me. I love that school girl look, but I love how the colored tights add that extra edge to the classic school girl look. I paired this with a gorgeous fabric necklace to give the outfit an Victorian feel. I added the red cardigan to add some more color and a neutral bag and black loafers to tie the outfit together.

On the middle outfit I paired these gorgeous coral tights with some floral shorts and a loose top. I added on some long necklaces, cute knee socks, brown boots, vintage like jewelry, and a cute brown hat. This outfit is perfect for school or for a date. It's so sweet and girlie with a vintage feel to it.

The outfit on the right is full of fun colors. I paired these mustard colored tights with a neutral dress. I paired it with a collar necklace, vintage like jewelry, fun plum heels, and this fun winter coat!

Don't be scared to mix colors! That's where some people get in a runt when trying to wear colored tights. You gotta mix and match a little and think outside of the box!

Back to the Basics

So yeah it's fun to buy super trendy pieces with funky patterns, but here is the rut people run into that only buy trendy pieces. They find themselves wearing them once or twice and then it sits in the back of their closet. But, you really only need a few basic pieces in your wardrobe to change that. With these 6 basic pieces I'm about to share with you, you will find you can use those trendy pieces for many different outfits!

These are my top 6 basic pieces I think are essential for your wardrobe. Let's begin with number one.

1. I don't know about you guys, but I wear jeans at least twice a week. Therefore, I don't mind spending a little extra on something I get that much use of. Pick a style that best suites you! My favorite style is skinny jeans. I love they look great with sneakers or heels. Let me show you two different ways to wear them with two totally different looks.

2. A simple basic tee. You can wear this tee in some many ways you just have to get your creative juices going! Nearly every outfit I wear I use a basic tee as my base. So here are two totally different looks you can do with a basic tee.

3. Neutral pumps are a MUST for your wardrobe. They are my go to shoes when I cannot find anything to match a certain outfit. They look good with nearly everything. Here are two looks I love to wear with neutral pumps.
4. The leather jacket. I know I've mentioned this in two post before, so clearly I love leather. I think it's definitely a must in anyone's wardrobe that likes to rock an edgy look. Here are some ways I like to wear my leather jacket.
5. Boots! I wear these nearly everyday during those cooler months! They look great with jeans and a sweater and look great with knee socks and skirts. Here are my favorite ways to wear my boots.
6. I love my blazer so much. It makes me feel so sophisticated when I wear it :). There are so many different types out there to choose from too! I have probably one of every style and one in every color I love them so much! Thrift stores are great for blazers! Here are two looks I love to rock with my blazers.

So there ya go, my basics for my wardrobe. I could post numerous ways to wear these items, but these are just some of my favorite ways. Hope this helps with your styling!
